The Innocent Bystander is a hard-edged, white knuckle crime-thriller set against the backdrop of a violent Belfast underworld.

Tommy Molloy has been running from himself since he was a kid, but a hardened exterior hides it well. Not even his best friend Gerry really knows what’s inside.

But Gerry has something Tommy doesn't - a conscience - and when the drugs they've sold at a club cause the death of a teenage girl, Gerry has to confess; not knowing that the girl's father is a gunman.

On the basis of Gerry's information Tommy is abducted and taken to be shot. But he escapes and goes on the run in Belfast. With the help of old flame Saorise he attempts to raise the cash to take him abroad, whilst trying to stay one step ahead of his abductors.

Tommy is consumed by both his pursuit of the getaway money and a desire for revenge over his best friend's betrayal.

Saorise is caught and abused at the hands of his pursuers, and a subsequent hand-over turns into a shooting match that leaves Gerry dead. Only then is Tommy forced to accept some responsibility for all this brutality.

For the first time in his life Tommy sees what he has become and is forced to choose a course of action that, in a final moment of revelation, helps him to understand why.

We're looking for investment totaling £100,000 to complete the shooting of the film in March 2008.
